JOB POSTING - Visitor Experience Counselor

The Sandspit Visitor Centre is looking for energetic individuals to join our team as Visitor Experience Counselors. This position will allow you to share your love of Haida Gwaii with the world! 1-2 positions available.

Hours: 3.5 hrs/day - shift 1 to 4pm every day - changes possible to coincide with Air Canada Flight schedules.

Wage: $20-$25/hr, depending on experience 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with visitors arriving and departing from the Sandspit Airport.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all visitors.

  • Communicate information about Sandspit and Haida Gwaii in a clear, friendly

    manner.

  • Operate the cash register and oversee daily operations of our gift shop.

  • Answer email and phone inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Work as part of a team to ensure customer service goals are being met.

  • Reports to the Visitor Centre Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 education.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous experience in retail settings an asset.
